Purple Sea Turtle

There is still so much to learn about Sea Turtles. There are 7 Sea Turtle species, 6 of which are unfortunately endangered. Only two families of turtles have moved to a marine environment; Dermochelyidae (the monotypic – single species – a family consisting of the Leatherback Sea Turtle), and Cheloniidae (The 6 other extant – opposite of extinct – Sea Turtles).

In an effort to reduce the amount of waste that harms these creatures in their marine habitats, I’ve used recycled cotton to stuff this crochet turtle.

I created my own crochet pattern for this project which will hopefully be available soon!
